Cookie Policy

Last updated

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Zuba uses a few of them, plus a few similar items in your browser’s local storage. This page lists every one and what it is for.

The short version

  • Essential cookies keep you signed in. Zuba cannot work without them.
  • Analytics cookies tell us which pages are used so we can improve them. You can block them and Zuba will still work.
  • We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not let advertisers track you on Zuba.

01 Essential

These keep you signed in and keep your account safe. The two token cookies cannot be read by the page’s own scripts.

NameWhat it doesHow long it lasts
access_tokenProves you are signed in when you use your account1 hour if you tick “Remember me”, otherwise until you close your browser
refresh_tokenSigns you back in quietly when the access token runs out30 days with “Remember me”, otherwise until you close your browser
user_dataHolds your name, email address, profile photo, role and verification tier, so the menu shows the right options before the page has finished loadingSame as refresh_token

02 Preferences

These remember choices you made. Most live in your browser’s local storage rather than in cookies and never leave your device.

NameWhat it doesHow long it lasts
theme (local storage)Remembers whether you chose light or dark modeUntil you clear it
sidebar_stateRemembers whether you collapsed the dashboard sidebar7 days
pending_save_property_id (local storage)Remembers a property you tried to save before signing in, so it is saved once you doUntil you sign in
has_seen_tenant_feature (local storage)Stops the Tenant Registry introduction showing every time you open the dashboardUntil you clear it

03 Analytics

These help us understand which pages people use and where they get stuck. We remove sign-in codes from page addresses before analytics tools see them, and we do not record your screen.

NameSet byWhat it doesHow long it lasts
_ga, _ga_*Google AnalyticsTells visits from the same browser apartUp to 2 years
ph_*_posthogPostHog (EU servers)Counts visits and the steps people take, such as starting and finishing sign-up1 year

We also use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and measure page speed. It does not use cookies or identify you.

04 Other services on our pages

Map images on listings come from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when your browser loads them. If you sign in with Google, Google sets its own cookies on its sign-in page, under Google’s privacy policy.

05 How to turn cookies off

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings, usually under Privacy. If you block essential cookies you will not be able to sign in, but you can still browse listings.

To stop Google Analytics in every site you visit, use Google’s opt-out add-on. Browser privacy settings and content blockers will usually block PostHog too.
